Beacuse I typeset in Japanese, I don't use LaTeX and now want to know which compiles faster: XeLaTeX or LuaTeX? Is Lua language allows to make the compile faster?

If the answer from topskip is still valid, the answer seems to be that LuaTeX may be many times slower - unless, perhaps, you use few and simple fonts with few features. @Werner: do you know if that answer is still current? – cfr Sep 21 '14 at 2:06
