How can I decrease the space above the quote using moderncv banking style, as in the following image:

Mock code:

\documentclass[11pt,a4paper,sans]{moderncv}
\moderncvstyle{banking}
\moderncvcolor{blue}
\usepackage[utf8]{inputenc}

\usepackage[scale=0.85, top=1.5cm, bottom=1cm]{geometry}

\name{John}{Doe}
\title{Resumé title}
\address{street and number}{postcode city}{country}
\phone[mobile]{+1~(234)~567~890}
\phone[fixed]{+2~(345)~678~901}
\phone[fax]{+3~(456)~789~012}

\quote{"Some quote"}

\usepackage{xpatch}
\xpatchcmd\makecvtitle
  {2.5em}
  {10pt} % or whatever: space above the quote

  • I don't have the package installed, tough you could try to replace the first \xpatchcmd\makecvtitle in your code with \xpatchcmd\maketitle, it should do the trick. – TonioElGringo Feb 10 '15 at 14:16

As suggested in comments, you should patch the \maketitle command where the space is defined as (in moderncvstylebanking.sty)

.
.
.
\flushmaketitle}\\[2.5em]}

in the last line. Hence add

\xpatchcmd{\maketitle}
  {\\[2.5em]}
  {\\[10pt]} % or whatever: space above the quote
  {}{}

in the preamble to change that space.
