I'm trying to change the citation style from numeric to author-year but it somehow keeps both of them (Pyke et al. [4]). As you can see it doesn't show the year, only the ID number. I tried to change the bibliography style to plainnat as was recommended here but it didn't help.

Any suggestions?

  • Did you rerun bibtex? – Bernard Mar 18 '15 at 10:00
  • Yes. It doesn't help :-( – Katya Kopit Mar 18 '15 at 11:29

Could you post a minimal (non)working example that we can play with? – Bernard Mar 18 '15 at 13:10
  • Hey @Bernard, is it possible to upload the file here somehow? – Katya Kopit Mar 18 '15 at 16:47
  • @KatyaKopit For text files, just copy and paste them (there is a way to mark them as "code" so they have good formatting). Note that a .lyx file is just a text file (i.e. not binary). Don't worry if they're large (they should not be, remember this should be a minimal example), there will be scroll bars. – scottkosty Mar 18 '15 at 16:54
