Can someone please run me through the steps to install the TikZ package on TeXstudio? I have been struggling for hours but just can’t seem to get it installed so that I can use it.

Thank you in advance.

  • TeXstudio is just an editor for tex files. To compile the tex file you need TeXlive or MikTeX, for example. Did you install some? – Sigur Aug 29 '15 at 16:32
  • Yes, I have MiKTeX installed. – Reginald Greyling Aug 29 '15 at 16:33
  • @LuiP3rd Welcome to TeX - LaTeX! I believe MiKTeX has a package manager for this. – clemens Aug 29 '15 at 16:35

What happens if you add \usepackage{tikz} to the preamble of the test Sigur provided? Does it compile? – daleif Aug 29 '15 at 16:50

LuiP3rd you should add a @ in front of names otherwise people won't get notified (@Sigur) – clemens Aug 29 '15 at 17:50
