I tried to run the code, however, it does not give any pdf output. Why?

\usepackage{url} % not crucial - just used below for the URL

% NOTE: To produce blinded version, replace "0" with "1" below.

% DON'T change margins - should be 1 inch all around.

I am surprised there is no error. And any one could help me to figure how to output a pdf. file?

Thanks very much.

Inorder to get a PDF output, you should use pdflatex instead of latex. Now the output is test.dvi. Run pdflatex test to generate the PDF. – Jagath Jul 9 '16 at 13:39

Remove the first line (% &latex) if you want a .pdf file. – Bernard Jul 9 '16 at 15:27

    Please change %&latex to %&pdflatex. – Jagath Jul 9 '16 at 15:46

As the MWE starts with %&latex, TeXShop uses latex to generate DVI output and no PDF was generated.

To generate a PDF, one should use %&pdflatex, so that TeXShop automatically uses pdflatex to generate the PDF.

If nothing is provided, then it will use pdflatex and output a PDF file.
