When following the answer to the question Figures on left pages, text on right ones with class book, numbering only on right pages, the table of figures as well as the \pageref for their labels give a page number which is wrong by 1 double-page: Fig.X on the left of p.20 appears in the Tof or with \pageref{} as being on p.19.

How can I get the right page numbering?

It might be because each figure/table only appears after it's been called, for example on the left of p.3 if it has been called in a text displayed on p.2.

In the code given in the answer of this question: tex.stackexchange.com/questions/356789/…, the fig.1.1 is said to be on p.11 in the Tof, but it actually faces p.12. – Stanin May 5 '17 at 22:39

If those pages don't get numbers, how can the numbers be the wrong numbers, as opposed to the numbers simply being wrong? – cfr May 6 '17 at 2:47
  • In a book with such a setting, you'd expect the reference to a figure/table to give you the number of the double-page where it can be found, which means the number of the right page facing the figure/table, even though the left page itself hasn't got any number. – Stanin May 6 '17 at 13:02
