    your code sniped is out of context and can not be compiled. please extend it to complete small document beginning with with documentclass[...]{...} and ending by \end{document}.

  • your original question has bunch of errors, inconsistency and strange solution, edited one mostly correct this but it is far away to be minimal ... :-(. you should exploit loaded packages!
