I am writing a documentclass which loads several packages as default. I want to give the user the possibility to pass options to these packages using an documentclass option. Because most packages have multiple options, I have to pass these options like some kind of list, which doesn't work at the moment.

Is there a (simple) way to realize this?

Here is my MWE with an example class, which should pass options to amsmath.

Documentclass: testclass.cls

\RequirePackage{expl3, l3keys2e}

\ExplSyntaxOn

\keys_define:nn {testclass} {
  amsmathoptions .tl_gset:N = \g_testclass_amsmathoptions_tl,
  amsmathoptions .initial:n = intlimits
}

\DeclareOption*{%
  \PassOptionsToClass{\CurrentOption}{article}%
}

\ProcessOptions
\ProcessKeysOptions{testclass}

\LoadClass{article}

\RequirePackage[\g_testclass_amsmathoptions_tl]{amsmath}

\ExplSyntaxOff

Example 1: Passing single option (works)

\documentclass[amsmathoptions=nonamelimits]{testclass}

\begin{document}

Integral:
\[
  \int_a^b f(x) \mathop{}\!\mathrm{d}x
\]

Operators:
\[
  \lim_{x \rightarrow \infty} f(x)
\]
\end{document}

Result 1

Example

Example 2: Passing multiple options (doesn't work)

\documentclass[amsmathoptions={nointlimits, nonamelimits}]{testclass}

\begin{document}

Integral:
\[
  \int_a^b f(x) \mathop{}\!\mathrm{d}x
\]

Operators:
\[
  \lim_{x \rightarrow \infty} f(x)
\]
\end{document}

Result 2

Sorry, but I'm not programmed to handle this case;
I'll just pretend that you didn't ask for it.

    Why not just let users specify them as class options? They'll be passed to the packages automatically, won't they? – cfr Feb 25 '18 at 20:26
