I'm using a template based on the book-class for my thesis. All Chapter titles are nicely formated and start on odd pages. What I would like is to have a picture to the left of each title page.

The whole .cls is at the bottom (it is a bit of a mess because I have been editing...)

With help of Andreas I was able to solve this using the changepage package

I defined a \startchapter command and changed the openleft setting of the bookclass to openany
