I have inherited a latex document that makes use of custom float and makes a list of it with the following command:

\newcommand{\TYP@within}{nothing}
\newboolean{TYP@within}
\setboolean{TYP@within}{false}
\newcommand{\TYP@floatstyle}{ruled}
\newcommand{\TYP@name}{Type}
\newcommand{\listtypename}{List of \TYP@name s}
<a bunch of other stuff>
\floatname{type}{\TYP@name}
\newcommand{\listoftypes}{\listof{type}{\listtypename}}

it show us up in this format

1 Thing.............1

What do I have to do in order to get the list of types to appear as follows?

Type 1 Thing .......... 1

    Welcome to TeX.SX! Please help us help you and add a minimal working example (MWE) that illustrates your problem. Reproducing the problem and finding out what the issue is will be much easier when we see compilable code, starting with \documentclass{...} and ending with \end{document}. – samcarter Jul 27 at 21:23
  • Hi, that the latex code I have include literally hundreds of lines of configuration (granted some of it does nothing), so I am not sure what post since I don't want to dump all of that here. – jam Jul 30 at 14:12

    Please reduce the code to the minimal amount that still produces the error. See minimal working example (MWE) for some suggestions how to make a MWE. – samcarter Jul 30 at 14:15
