# Float(s) lost: while compiling this message pops up

I was compiling a few of my lecture notes (depnotes.tex) using Latex through PS chain. The file contains tables and graphics. I started getting the error message. Float(s) lost.\begin{theindex}. The file is not compiled to DVI or PS format. What I have to do to compile the file?

• it probably means that you have a figure or table in your file where it should not be, but impossible to guess what is wrong unless you give more information. – David Carlisle Sep 14 at 8:48
