I have installed TexMaker and tried to process the file but received
Error: Log file not found

I have seen similar questions in here, suggesting that MikTeX should be installed and changing the path environment in Options -> Configure TexMaker to the path where MikTex is installed. For me this is C:\Program Files\Miktex 2.9\miktex\bin\x64. However, this does not work.

Any suggestions?

  • Welcome ! Did you save your .tex file prior compilation ? – BambOo Oct 8 at 9:01
  • Write a bug report to the texmaker maintainer. Or use another editor. – Ulrike Fischer Oct 8 at 9:05
  • Thank you, @BambOo! I did save it before compiling, but without any luck. – C.Mikkelsen Oct 8 at 9:32

  • MiKTeX (and TeX Live) include a copy of TeXworks. from MiKTeX-console you can use TeXworks to test basic functionality. For first time use of MiKTeX-Console use the update and Refresh file name database. Then open TeXworks from the left hand side of console and compile a small simple file. This checks MiKTeX out and is thus not at fault when you use it with another editor or viewer. I suspect this will give some idea of the root of this issue. – KJO Oct 8 at 21:16
