# How to add my own directory to TexWorks search list

I am using TeXWorks as the front end for the XeTeX format. Just installed this from the TeXLive 2017 CD.

I have a directory of my own plain-Tex macro files. I want my plain-TeX coded documents to access these input files using the \input macro.

I tried to add the path to my macro folder to the TeXWorks search path, via:

Edit | Preferences | Paths for TeX and related programs

I put it in the list and moved it to the top of the list. I closed and reopened TeXWorks to confirm that the addition has been added. It has.

However, when I typeset the document, I get the message:

This is XeTeX, Version 3.14159265-2.6-0.99998 (MiKTeX 2.9.6300 64-bit) entering extended mode (MotCourtOrder.tex ! I can't find file `mac2'. l.1 \input mac2

Please type another input file name: Process interrupted by user

Of course, the problem goes away if my source file is in the same directory with my macro folder, but that is what I am trying to avoid. I was hoping that TeXWorks had an easy way to add my home directory.
