I am trying to use the subfigure environment along with sub-reference using \subfloat and \subref command and have already installed and tried with the packages like \subfig, \subcaption, \float in various ways for the svjour3 journal template. But none of them worked for me and every time I am getting error for the \subref command I have used.

The error statement is as follows:

l.434 ... natural numbers as shown in Fig. \subref{(a)} - \subref{(f)} of Fi... The control sequence at the end of the top line of your error message was never \def'ed. If you have misspelled it (e.g., \hobx'), typeI' and the correct spelling (e.g., `I\hbox'). Otherwise just continue, and I'll forget about whatever was undefined.

My question is isn't there any way to use the \subref command for calling each individual sub-figures in case of svjour3 journal?

Getting no clue. Please suggest any solution.
