  • I edited your post to be a real MWEB. Your example included a lot of uncessary packages. By reducing your code to a really minimal example, you're making it easier for others to help you. Thus you increase the chance that someone will actually try to solve your problem. I often don't even try if I have to install 5 packages to even compile the MWE.... – sheß Apr 1 at 11:21

You could just remove them from your bibliography:

Though, be warned, this is an incomplete reference in that particular example as the AER has published more than once in 1996, so they have several issues/volumes with pages 187-191, so journals/paper graders will not like this if they spot it.

  • Oh, I see, well then you can either try and modify the bibliography style (see this post, tex.stackexchange.com/questions/305981/…) or try to find one that already does what you wish for. Either way, if you're really after citing that paper from you example I strongly advise against dropping the volume. – sheß Apr 1 at 11:36
  • I have seen this link before mate. I am working in overleaf. I do not have the file or that contains the function I can fix...trust me I wish to keep the volume numbers, makes it easier for me....well.... – R.Islam Apr 1 at 11:39
  • That's why I posted that link, because it is a similar question and I thought it might help you. If I am not mistaken you can also upload .bst files to overleaf and you could download the original .bst file from anywhere in the internet. So that could work. I'm afraid you'll either have to change the bibliography entry or the bibliography style.
