I'm using the geometry package to set the margins for my document.

\usepackage[margin=0.5in]{geometry}

And the authblk package to create my author block. When I typeset my document, it appears that the first page has a different top margin than the others. Is the authblk package interfering with geometry? How can I set the first page top margin to be the same as the others? Thanks.

  • If you add [...,showframe] to geometry is will show the text area. Presumably, authblk is simply adding some \vspace* at the top. – John Kormylo Apr 26 at 21:58
  • Do you use package fancyhdr? That can have such an effect if used wrong ... – Mensch Aug 30 at 23:07

  • Based on your answer at the link below I can control these dimensions now. Thanks. I think it is fine to close this question. I can repost if I can reproduce the problem with a MWE, and a more specific problem statement. tex.stackexchange.com/questions/487978/… – Canaryyellow 2 days ago
