I have been trying to insert a segment of vertical text with line breaks (turning into columns) into a larger horizontal text. After many tricks and hacks attempted, most of which a) destroy formatting, such as putting lines into \hbox-es and making a tabular out of them: I was unable to make the boxes align to their upper sides; b) do not work, announcing an ‘incompatible direction list’ or just refusing vertical direction, such as \tcolorbox.

Out of all attempts, framed works almost perfectly, but any methods to specify absence of frame drawn (from Colored frame for the framed environment ) lead to package conflict.

Is there a standard trick of putting vertical segments that are more than one paragraph long and expected to wrap?
