I'm working on a thesis now, and like many theses, it's largely just a bunch of past papers stapled together.
I find you have to do a lot of tedious reformatting when you want to turn a paper into a chapter of a thesis. e.g. change all references from
\subsections, make sure there are not name-conflicts in labels, etc.
Is there some more elegant way to do this in latex that would do one or more of the following?:
- define a "namespace" such that references made within the chapter can only be referenced from that chapter - removing potential for accidental reference-name clashes
subsectionsare demoted one level.
- references to files are relative to the folder containing the sub-document.
