Longtime user of LaTeX and Sublime lover here, but having issues getting things up and running on a Windows PC -- am NOT a long time windows user!

I installed Sublime Text 3 and downloaded the TexLive distribution following the instructions here: https://latextools.readthedocs.io/en/latest/install/#windows

When I attempted to compile a .tex file that had compiled on my Mac and unix systems, I received this error:

TraditionalBuilder: Engine: pdflatex. Invoking texify...

COULD NOT COMPILE!

Attempted command:texify -b -p --engine=pdftex --tex-option="--synctex=1" file.tex
Build engine: Traditional Builder

Suspecting that I had missed a step in the installation, I then downloaded MikTex using its installer/wizard. When the installation completed, I received the same error.

I found an issue on github which produced the same error back in 2014, but it is still open and unresolved and I do not understand when comments say "set the path" and whatnot--I don't know what path or how to set it! So I don't know where to go from here to troubleshoot my issue.

What are the next steps I should take to get a functioning clean install of LaTeX in my ST3 editor?
