How can I put the reference of \footcite{} between square brackets? I need it to look like a Wikipedia note. For example, the code

The term foobar is used as metasyntactic variable.\foocite{wp:foo}

should print

The term foobar is used as metasyntactic variable.[1]

instead of

The term foobar is used as metasyntactic variable.1

Please consider that I'm completely new to biblatex and to bibliographies in general. I apologize in advance for every basic trick I can be missing.
