Just Installed MiKTeX application, Console 2.9.7206, Ubuntu 18.04 LTS (I'm new to ubuntu os and new to LaTeX) So, I'm editing an IEEE paper format from its website to write my own paper. Just opened and typeset(ed) it but observed this following error:

ERROR: The invoked program could not be found in the PATH.
ERROR: Info: invocationName="pdflatex"
ERROR: Source: Libraries/MiKTeX/Core/Session/unx/unxSession.cpp
ERROR: Line: 75

Sorry, but pdflatex did not succeed.
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'MiKTeX::Core::MiKTeXException'
what(): MiKTeX encountered an internal error.

Sorry, but "MiKTeX Compiler Driver" did not succeed.

The same doesn't happen in Windows 10, it just updates from a random repository online and 5 mins later gives me the pdf.

Help me out please! Thanks in Advance!

  • Not really a straightforward answer but for linux texlive is more tested and trusted between linux users. So, an installation of texlive-latex-recommended and texlive-publishers should be enough for your compilation. (Sorry but I don't use MikTeX in order to help you with a straightforward answer) – koleygr Nov 24 at 12:55
