I discovered the mdframed package and have been toying with the framemethod=tikz setting to create a frame with some text in it. I'd like to place some text near the upper left corner, but set a few points down. In other words, the node will be flush left, and a few points down from the top. I can place a node at the very upper left corner with (O |- P). Is there a nice way to add some negative vertical offset, preferably in pts, not relative to the frame size? Perhaps there is an easier way to do this all together, I am quite new to TikZ, there is a lot to digest.

  • use the tcolorbox package instead. Much better and also actively maintained. – Ulrike Fischer Feb 2 at 15:41
