# Adding uncited references to the appendix without changing the (author, year) citation format in the body

I have searched the whole web for an answer on this but was unsuccessful. I want to add references to my paper without having to cite them in the body of the text. BUT when I use \nocite{*} or \nocite{key} the reference style in my text changes from (author, year) to numbered citations. And I cannot figure out if there is a way to keep the (author, year) format AND add remaining references to the appendix.

• \nocite definitely should not change the style of the \cite output. Can you show us a short example document (complete with \documentclass, \begin{document}...\end{document}) that reproduces this odd behaviour? – moewe Feb 7 at 17:02
