When compiling a document with revtex4-2 class (and also with revtex4-1), I get the following warning:

pdflatex> Class revtex4-2 Warning: Failed to recognize \@vspace, \@vspacer, \@no@pgbk, \@newline, and \\; no patches applied. Please get a more up-to-date class, .

What does this mean? How can I fix this?

Here is a minimal working example:

\documentclass[aps,prb,10pt]{revtex4-2}

\begin{document}
Testtext
\end{document}

I use TeXnicCenter on Windows 10 with MikTeX 2.9 installed. All packages are up-to-date (revtex v4.2c).

    Write the class authors, obviously one of their patches no longer works. – Ulrike Fischer Mar 26 '20 at 13:24
  • Ok, thanks. I wrote to the revtex support. – Jan Mar 26 '20 at 15:02
  • I'm still waiting for a reply from the revtex dev support and I will update this thread, as soon as I have any new information. – Jan Apr 8 '20 at 9:39
