Is it possible to have functionality in VSCode where all changes by different users are synced on the fly, like on Overleaf.com?

You need to use Git to integrate with Overleaf, and can install the command-line version of your preferred tex editor since you'll be using VSCode for UI.

A VSCode extension called Overleaf Workshop syncs edits in real time. It even shows the cursor locations in both Overleaf and VSCode!

Here's a screenshot of VSCode using the Overleaf Workshop: Screenshot showing VSCode with edits synced to and from Overleaf.

Here's a screenshot of the same document in Overleaf, showing edits made in VSCode: Screenshot showing Overleaf with edits synced to and from VSCode.
