I have never used Latex. I am trying to edit some latex on overleaf. The following code works fine.

\begin{cventries}

%---------------------------------------------------------
  \cventry
    {} % Role
    {Python} % Title
    {} % Location
    {} % Date(s)
    {
      \begin{cvitems} % Description(s)
        \item {Pandas}
        \item {Matplotlib}
        \item {Scikit-learn}
        \item {Numpy}
        \item {Scipy}
      \end{cvitems}
    }

%---------------------------------------------------------
\end{cventries}

But this one does not work and throwing me an error.

\begin{cventries}

%---------------------------------------------------------
  \cventry
    {Python} % Title
    {
      \begin{cvitems} % Description(s)
        \item {Pandas}
        \item {Matplotlib}
        \item {Scikit-learn}
        \item {Numpy}
        \item {Scipy}
      \end{cvitems}
    }

%---------------------------------------------------------
\end{cventries}

Could someone suggest what I am doing wrong ?

    It appears that \cventry requires 5 arguments. What you have done is to eliminate 3 of them. Despite that, \cventry still expects them to be given, even if only as blank {} arguments. – Steven B. Segletes Sep 21 '20 at 14:29
  • @StevenB.Segletes leaving the arguments blank leaves unexpected blank lines in the final document. Is there any way to remove those blank lines ? – sbhhdp Sep 21 '20 at 14:55

    In any event, you need to provide a minimum working example, including documentclass, \begin{document}...\end{document}, so that those who would help you know what it is you are trying to accomplish. – Steven B. Segletes Sep 21 '20 at 14:56
