How can I use lstlisting in a two column setup, meaning that the code block is spreading over both columns? (lstlisting* is not valid.) - I dont want two listings side by side!

Reproducing the problem and finding out what the issue is will be much easier when we see compilable code, starting with \documentclass{...} and ending with \end{document}. – DG' Nov 23 '20 at 10:46
