This question has been asked a few times but I have tried all the solutions I could find.

I have tried to do this on both windows and mac OS and I am having no luck. It worked on windows until my windows PC had a couple of blue screen of deaths in a row and now it isn't working. It doesn't make sense to me why it isn't working on macOS.

On Mac:

  • I have installed anaconda. When I open terminal it is using anacondas python. When i type 'pygmentize --help' it launches the pygmentize commend.

  • In texmaker I have altered the pdflatex command to the following: '"pdflatex" -synctex=1 --shell-escape --enable-write18 -interaction=nonstopmode %.tex'

When I run texmaker it just errors out saying it cannot find pygmentize.

in windows I have done a similar thing:

  • anaconda added and the path variable set such that if I type python into command prompt it launches to python 3.9 under anaconda including the pygmentize working as it does on macOS

  • Texmaker contains exactly the same line for pdflatex that i pasted above.

This gives the error pygmentize is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

Please send help I have 2 weeks before I need to hand in my thesis and wasting a day on this was not part of my plan!

  • you need to make pygmentize not just python be on your path. if you type pygmentize in a cmd window, does it work? – David Carlisle Dec 20 '20 at 11:02
