I'm wondering if there are any recommendations or suggestions on how to properly highlight filenames written in the text, for example when mentioning source code files (frontend.py in the example below)? Is maybe inline-verbatim commonly used?

Example of what I want to write in my revtex manuscript:

New simulations can be setup by running the Python frontend (frontend.py), which takes a number of command-line arguments, e.g. the location of a file containing the simulation settings:

python frontend.py --config-file path/to/settings.json

    Perhaps \texttt{frontend.py}? It converts "frontend.py" to a monospace/typewriter font. – Pim Mar 7 at 18:03
