This is a follow up of this question. I am writing a document in Spanish, I have configured it to be in Spanish:

enter image description here

but the PDF is still created in English:

enter image description here

You can see that it says "September 26, 2021" and "References" in English.

This is a MWE producing that PDF:

  • Thanks for the MWE! The PDF looks good when I compile your LyX file. Without changing anything, I get "26 de septiembre de 2021" and "Referencias". This suggests the differences are because of different TeX Lives. If you have a virtual box install of Ubuntu where you can experiment, you might consider running install-tl-ubuntu (github.com/scottkosty/install-tl-ubuntu) instead of installing Tex Live with apt. I don't recommend using that script with your main system though since it could break something. Perhaps wait for other suggestions.

I confirm that the document is fine as is, so there are some problem with your installation. In case that you are using MIkTeX on WIndows, I will start checking if babel is already installed and updated.

  • Okay, I was expecting that this was some issue with my installation. I am in Ubuntu 20.04.

  • I'm not sure your installation is corrupt. I think it just might be not the newest release.
