# How to Draw Hieroglyphics Similar to These with Latex

In Burton's History of Mathematics, the following hieroglyphic drawings are introduced:

For something I plan on writing on Egyptian arithmetic, I would like to make use of hieroglyphics that resemble these---which were clearly drawn by hand.

Is it possible for Latex to approximate these drawings (and similar thickness if possible)?

I have accessed the hieroglf package, but have not found in all cases drawings resembling the ones contained in Burton's book. Also, I could not find anything in the documentation for 10,000,000 (i.e., a "rising sun" so conjectured.)

Searching this site, I have found other ways of producing hieroglyphics that require either Xelatex or LuaLatex---neither of which is an option for me.

QUESTION: How may the eight or nine Burton hieroglyphics be produced in PdfLatex to resemble the pictures shown with a similar hand-drawn effect and thickness (if possible)?

Depending on copyright issues you can scan the images or just as here draw replacements

Obviously it is possible (with great patience) make the "tracing" of each hieroglyphic. For this I use TikzEdt with the technique described here. Below some results.
