On a recent update in MikTeX2.9 in Windows 10, the upgrading failed and showed the following error message:

miktex-texworks.exe - System Error: The code execution cannot proce2.9 ed because MikTeX210800-hunspell.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix the problem.

I went to add/remove packages via Control panel, but MiKTeX is not listed there (I do not know why), so I am puzzled how to do a remove MikTeX and do a fresh install. Please help me how I can remove the entire MikTeX from Windows 10 and re-istall.

  • I don't have MiKTeX on my machine, but I'm pretty sure there should be either the option to uninstall from the MiKTeX console (if that still runs) or there should be an uninstall executable in the installation directory. If you don't have any luck with those options, try just running the MiKTeX installer without uninstalling or just deleting the installtion directory and then installing.
