I recently installed Basic Miktex installer and then texstudio. When I ran some already existing .tex file, it showed the error 'mathtools.sty not found'. I couldn't see any local repository option to install the missing package. I then tried to update Miktex console. But all of a sudden, the following message started to pop up repeatedly - 'The code execution cannot proceed because MikTex21000-ui-Qt.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem'. I tried uninstalling mike tex, but it showing the same message when I click on the app. I am using Windows 10. Can you please help me resolve the problem?

Unfortunately, mathtools is not installed by default. You have to install it with MiKTeX Package Manager.– BernardDec 5, 2021 at 17:42
