How should I use acronym package when I have pluralizations and derived words, for example

    \acro{FPGA}{Field-Programmable Gate Array}
    \acro{MIPS}{Microprocessor without Interlocked Pipeline Stages}

But then later I use these it renders not the way the reader would like it, when I try use the plural:

or the derived word e.g. MIPS32

What is the recommended practice, if I want to simply explain the acronym once e.g.

\acro{MIPS}{Microprocessor without Interlocked Pipeline Stages}

and still be able to use derived words for example MIPS32 (for the 32-bit version of MIPS).
