This is my MWE :

When I compile it with xelatex I get the following output:

xelatex Output

But when I compile it with latexdvipsps2pdf I get a correct rendering:

latex output

As you see, the \psframe correctly render the given coordonates, but \rput seems to ignore them completly. I can give it any coordonate, the “X” mark still at the bottom right.

I use TeXlive 2020.20210202-3

An this is my xelatex version:

% xelatex -v
XeTeX 3.14159265-2.6-0.999992 (TeX Live 2020/Debian)

What to do to get the correct rendering using xelatex?

  • What TeX-Distribution do you have and which program do you used? It looks like that you are using an old xelatex or viewd the dvi output. What happens if you use lualatex?

  • With lualatex I get the following error: ! Undefined control sequence. \c@lor@to@ps ->\PSTricks _Not_Configured_For_This_Format l.5 ...width=2pt,dimen=inner,framearc=0.5](3,1)(4,2) ?

    2020 is an old system which doesn't know luapstricks. Run the example with xelatex, which should work or use the route latex->dvips -> ps2pdf

    This seems to be a duplicate of tex.stackexchange.com/questions/633412/…. A solution is mentioned in comments: xelatex --shell-escape -output-driver="xdvipdfmx -i dvipdfmx-unsafe.cfg" yourfile.tex.

    @Marjin: it is not a duplicate! @fauve: There was a bug in xdvipdfmx years ago. However, you should update your TeX distribution: Valilla TeXLive tug.org/texlive/debian.html
