In a previous question on this site (better default colors for hyperref links), Ulrike Fischer said that a new colorscheme option will be provided for the hyperref pacakge, four years ago.

It is also documented here: https://mirror.las.iastate.edu/tex-archive/macros/latex/contrib/pdfmanagement-testphase/hyperref-generic.pdf

How to use this new option? I am using a recent TeX but it does not seem to exist (yet?).

\documentclass{article}
\usepackage{hyperref}
\hypersetup{colorscheme=tivv}

\begin{document}
Hello!
\end{document}

    Please give more details of your TeX system - 'recent' is rather vague

The colorshemes can be used if you load the PDF management (and with it the new generic hyperref driver) with \DocumentMetadata:

\DocumentMetadata{}
\documentclass{article}
\usepackage{hyperref}
\hypersetup{colorlinks,colorscheme=tivv}

\begin{document}
\section{Hello}\label{sec:hello}

\ref{sec:hello}, \url{https://www.example.com}

\hypersetup{colorscheme=szabolcsB}

\ref{sec:hello}, \url{https://www.example.com}

\end{document}
