The message is not good. But the problem is that you need \beginnumbering\pstart\pend\endnumbering, as explained in the handbook of reledpar §3, you need to use the reledmac numbering system. \documentclass[]{scrbook} \usepackage[]{reledmac} \usepackage[]{reledpar} \begin{document} \begin{pairs} \begin{Leftside} \beginnumbering \...

First, you must understand that reledmac / reledpar, for some internation reason, break the normal system of paragraphing of LaTeX. What is really paragraph for reledmac/reledpar are the \pstart … \pend unit. Especially, with reledpar, if you want paragraph to be synchronized, and that is the aim of reledpar. In order to help you to have to typing every \...

As I said, the bug was not linked to including file, but to alternate \Pages \Columns. Try this file for example : \documentclass{article} \usepackage{polyglossia,fontspec,xunicode,etex} \usepackage{libertineotf} \setmainlanguage{english} \usepackage[series={}, nocritical, noend, noeledsec, nofamiliar, noledgroup] {reledmac} \...

As explained by moewe, your combination of all these packages make you need to many \write room. You could use morewrites package, but you will get a very slow run. It is better to optimize your reledmac setting to avoid not need rule. Reading § 4.2 of reledmac handbook, (that you would have find if you have looked for "room" in the reledmac handbook), you ...

The versions 2.9.0 of reledmac and 2.8.0 of reledpar, just send on CTAN, provides an option continuousnumberingwithcolumns to allow alternating between normal text and parallel column text using continuing line numbering. Use \linenumberLevenifblanktrue to print the left line number even if the line is blank. Cf this MWE, adapted from the handbook. \...

The problem is with the math made $\parallel$. Maths is LTR and this seems to stuff up the direction of things in the footnote. My suggestion is to use the Unicode ∥ symbol from the Latin Modern Math font instead, like this: \usepackage{newunicodechar} \newfontfamily\lmmath{Latin Modern Math} \newunicodechar{∥}{{\lmmath ∥}} \Xparafootsep{ ∥ } MWE (Sorry,...

Use optional argument of \Afootnote. \edtext{lemma}{\Afootnote[nonum]{line with no num}} cf. §5.2.2 of the handbook

The error message is not correct. What is missing here is \beginnumbering…\endnumbering and \pstart…\pend structure. Here a correct version \documentclass[11pt,a4paper,titlepage,twoside]{article} \usepackage{reledmac} \usepackage{reledpar} \title{Two languages on facing pages} \author{mc} \begin{document} \maketitle \begin{pages} \begin{Leftside} \...

\skipnumbering skip line number for a specific line. That is, in this line, line number is nore increased, nore printed. \hidenumbering hide line number for a specific line. That is, in this line, line number is increased but not printed. \hidenumberingonleftpage is the same, but it applies only when the line is on a left page. What you need is to "freeze" ...

This shows how to do the overlay trick. \documentclass{article} \usepackage{paracol} \usepackage{amsthm} \newtheorem{sats}{Sats} \newtheorem{theorem}[sats]{Theorem} \newcommand{\singlecol}[2][0]% #1 = column (0=left) to wind up in (optional), #2 = text to appear as if in a signel column {\switchcolumn[0]* \noindent\rlap{\parbox{\textwidth}{#2}} \...

Why your solution bugs \pstart…\pend must contain only normal text. Not mathematical display, and not \vskip. Any entry like this perturbate the way reledmac/reledpar split lines, and so the alignment. Principle of my solution We will use a \setindent but OUTSIDE of the \pstart…\pend. To do that, we use the fact that in parallel typesetting, reledpar ...

2

There is two questions. In general you should ask for ONE problem in the some time. But, I will try to answer here. First question The main problem is that your \newcommand{\choiceline}[2]{\linenum{|#1|#2||#1|#2}} \sublinenumberstyle{alph} \let\fullstop\relax is called in the rightside environment, and so have a local impact. And the notes are inserted ...

2

You could do \AtEveryPstart{\vspace{\baselineskip}} to insert a blank line automatically between pstart. However, note that, normally, paragraphs are not separated by a blank line and reledmac is not an exception.

2

As explained by ShreevatsaR you can use morewrites package. But before doing that: As explained in reledmac handbook, you must respect this order Load imakeidx Load reledmac Declare your index. The order is very important. Last but not least: if you don't use the endnotes / eledsection tools of reledmac, use noeledsec and noend optiions when loading ...

2

My goal is to produce the equivalent of a manuscript apparatus as in critical notes, but without any line or paragraph numbering, since it will be clear that it refers only to that particular ledgroup That is the most important thing. You can configure reledmac to not print any number in critical footnotes. You must use both \Xnonumber and \...

2

Just call \renewcommand{\footnoterule}{} before loading reledmac. However, that is a bug of reledpar. You should not have two footnote rule. Please open an issue on github (if I remember well, there is an other bug with parallel ledgroup).

reledpar allows you to define the width of columns, and the space between them. The most complex operation is to find the width of a \blockquote. As \blockquote calls quote environment, we can have to determine the witdh of quote. The file scrartcl.cls defines it unexplicitly: \newenvironment{quote}{% \list{}{\rightmargin\leftmargin}% \item\relax }{% ...

First, it is false to said the problem happens with edtext on two lines, its happen with edtext on two lines of verse, which is not the same thing. The reason would be too complex to explain. It is possible I think to solve it with astanza, but not with normal stanza. So I won't take time to solve it to with astanza. However, reledmac provides tools to ...

2

You didn't understand how to use \xxref. If you change endnote to footnote, you see you get the same problem :) \xxref is used to change line number in foot/endnote. The first argument is the name of a label placed on the first line, the second argument is the name of a label placed on the last line. You have placed two times a begin label and a \end label....

2

That is a feature of reledpar. Normally, your left subsection are // to your right subsection (because left side is generally a translation of right side). There is no option (actually) to change this feature. Please open a github issue. However, there is a quite simple workaround. Add \makeatletter \let\set@sectcountR\relax \makeatother To your ...

2

As explained in comment, your MWE is not really minimum. Anyway, here is an explanation to why you have a problem. First of one, in reledmac/reledpar mode, \thepstart become \thepstartL and \thepstartR. When you call \thepstart in leftside, it automatically calls \thepstartL, but your endnotes are printed outside of leftside, so \thepstart send you the ...

2

That was a bug (indeed, no people tried this feature with endnotes!). The version 2.21.6 of reledpar, just send in the CTAN, solve it. If you use TeXLive, you should install it manually, as TeXLive2017 is frozen (or wait for TeXLive 2018). The versions 2.26.7 of reledmac/2.21.7 of reldpar fix a related bug

2

Completing @Fran answer, here a solution to get automatically paragraph of "foot"note synchroniszed with paragraph of main text, using reledpar, without inserting manually \newpage and have relatesd problems of synchronisation. We just use the native features of reledpar, i.e synchornisation between left and right page. \documentclass{article} \...

2

The problem is caused by the empty line after the first \pstart. \documentclass[12pt,a4paper,twoside]{book} \usepackage{fontspec} \usepackage{polyglossia} \setmainlanguage{english} \usepackage{reledmac} \usepackage[nomaxlines]{reledpar} \usepackage[a4paper,ignoreall,right=2.5cm, left=2.5cm,bottom=1.5cm,top=1.5cm]{geometry} \begin{document} \begin{...

2

It is a problem of expansion. I have notime now to understand the problem in reledmac code (you could open an issue), but a \unexpanded work around. \documentclass{article} \usepackage{reledmac, reledpar} \begin{document} \tableofcontents \beginnumbering \pstart[\unexpanded{\section[reledmac section in toc]{reledmac section in body}}] a reledmac ...

2

Just add inside the same footnote. Remember: reledmac is neutral concerning the content of the footnote, all is your choice. \documentclass{article} \usepackage{libertineotf} \usepackage{polyglossia} \setmainlanguage{english} \usepackage[noend, nopenalties, nofamiliar, noeledsec, series={A,B}]{reledmac} \usepackage{reledpar} \Xarrangement{paragraph} \...

After reading the helpful comment from Maïeul and having a look at this post I found out that there were two different versions of reledmac installed by MikTex. The correct version (2.24.0) was installed via the MikTex Package Manager (Admin), but this was not the version that was used by Latex. I also had to use the MikTex Package Manager (without the --...

I can help with at least with one problem. First if all, the biblatex stuff is not necessary for your problem as far as I can tell, so I removed that bit of code. You can tell csquotes a threshold for when to indent a quote. I changed it to 1000 lines. This means basically that it is not indented anymore. \documentclass{scrartcl} \usepackage[english]...

The new version of reledpar, v2.15.0, just submitted on CTAN, provides a movecolumnspositiononrightpage package option. Here a MWE \documentclass{article} \usepackage{polyglossia,fontspec,xunicode} \usepackage{libertineotf} \setmainlanguage{english} \usepackage[series={},nocritical,noend,noeledsec,nofamiliar,noledgroup]{reledmac} \usepackage[...

You must the optional argument of \pstart to avoid problem when typesetting not classical paragraphed text. \documentclass[9pt,a6paper]{memoir} %%%%%%%%%reledmac and reledpar optons%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% \usepackage[nocritical,noeledsec,noend,noledgroup,nofamiliar]{reledmac} \usepackage[]{reledpar} %%%%%%%%POLYGLOSSIA%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% \usepackage{...
