About

I'm a linguist working on a book about ASL (American Sign Language - the language used by deaf people in the USA). Since this will require lots of embedded video clips, I am investigating LaTeX as a possible solution to a big problem I have encountered with the Microsoft Word to PDF workflow I have used up to now: the fact that any time I edit the Word doc source (which is necessary whenever an edit is large enough to cause flow to another page), I must re-insert all the video clips, together with every single parameter choice for every single video clip individually - a time-consuming, mind-numbing process. It still remains to be seen whether I can cause LaTeX to display video clips the way I require. If I can - and results so far are promising - I'll enjoy a much more efficient (and less painful!) workflow.
